Costa Rica Eco Vacations Without Having To Rough It
Costa Rica has taken the lead in preserving its natural state. The country landscape is covered in National Parks infact 70% of the countrys land mass is protected. So if you are looking to take an eco vacation Costa Rica should be on the top of your list. Costa Rica Eco Vactions is a great way to explore the jungles and beaches with your children. Costa Rica is a safe family destination.
Costa Rica on the Caribbean
One of my favorite places to visit is the Caribbean side because it is less developed than the Pacific side. So you can truly enjoy the nature of the jungles and beaches. Just because it is less developed doesn’t mean you will have to sacrifice comfort.
You will find quaint villages where the people are some of the nicest people. They are more than willing to answer any question or offer you advice. The smaller villages are cash only so plan ahead before you leave the last big city.
What can you do on an eco vacation. Well, the list is long but I will tell you about a few key things you will want to do. One of my favorite things to do is take a night jungle tour. The jungle comes to life at night. You can do it yourself or hire a local guide.
I highly recommend a local guide because they will point out critters you would not normally notice. Plus they can tell you more about the area than you can read from a book. They grew up here and now the ends and outs of the area.
The ocean is another great draw and most of the shoreline is protected from development. So it is one of the most prestine beaches around. Most villages do have public beach access as well as public access to the beaches in the numerous national parks.
No matter where you decide to lay your head at night you will not be far from a national park or beach. You can emerse yourself in the jungle (think swiss family robinson).
Jungle Canopy Tours
A great way to see the jungle is via a canopy zip line tour. You can get up where the birds and critters live and see them in their natural habitat. It will make going to the zoo back home less appealing though.
But going on an eco vacation does not have to break the bank. You can find lodging for less than you would spend going to the movies. Some even offer free breakfast including fruits harvested from the trees on their property. You will never be far from fresh tropical fruit.
Once you visit you will want to purchase your own piece of paradise. It is cheaper than you ever imagined. For what your friends are paying for their Florida retirement home you will be paying 70 to 80% less.
So leave the stress of the crowded resort towns and come down and enjoy your own Costa Rican eco vacation. You will be glad you did. The villages I recommend are Puerto Viejo, Tortuguero and Cahauita.
